Biotherm[1], a skin fitness pioneer and L'Oréal Group brand, is set to launch the world's first fully biorecycled cosmetic bottle, designed using CARBIOS’ enzymatic PET recycling technology.
From Spring 2025, Biotherm's iconic Waterlover sun mist will relaunch in a reinvented cosmetic bottle with a material that is five times more circular, thereby reducing its carbon footprint by 90%[2] compared to the production of a virgin plastic.
Today, most recycled plastic comes from mechanical recycling, a process that doesn't achieve the same level of transparency, quality, creative flexibility and circularity as PET issued from CARBIOS’ biorecycling. Crystal-clear transparency, luxurious shine, customizable colors: CARBIOS r-PET enables Biotherm to push the boundaries of innovation and get one step closer to reaching fully circular plastic packaging by 2030.
